Standing Against Oppression
A Life Rooted in Justice, Love, and Liberation
From a young age, I understood what it meant to be different. Raised in a Jewish household, I grew up knowing both the deep richness of my heritage and the ever-present undercurrent of antisemitism that has shaped generations before me. I learned early that intolerance doesn’t just exist in history books—it lives in the way systems are built, in the quiet biases people hold, and in the open hostility that some feel emboldened to express.
As I journeyed through life, my understanding of racism, prejudice, discrimination, and colonial systems deepened. I married and built a family, raising black/Jewish and Latina/differently-abled children in a world that too often sees difference as something to fear rather than embrace. I witnessed the ways in which racism is woven into the fabric of society—how my children would be perceived, treated, and judged based on the color of their skin. The desire to create a safe world for all beings to thrive through compassion and understanding was no longer abstract; it was personal, urgent, and inescapable.
My path to liberation for all beings became deeper when I became a parent to a differently-abled child. Navigating a world that often fails to accommodate, understand, or uplift those with different abilities has been a profound and eye-opening experience. I’ve seen how ableism creates barriers—both visible and invisible—and how people who are differently abled are too often underestimated, excluded, or forced to fight for basic accessibility and respect. Raising my children in this world has strengthened my commitment to education equality and opening pathways for all beings through advocating for a more just, inclusive society—one where all children can thrive, no matter their race, abilities, or identities.
One piece that was long missing from my own healing journey—and is so often left out in mainstream healing spaces—was sexuality. For years, I did the work of healing my trauma, learning, unlearning, and rising in resilience, but I didn’t yet understand that without reclaiming my sexuality, my healing was incomplete. Integrating sacred sexuality through lineage-based tantric practices allowed me to come home to my body in a way nothing else ever had. Alongside all the other layers of my path, this work helped me reclaim my voice, agency, sensuality, pleasure, and power—not just for myself, but for the generations before and after me.
Being Jewish, raising mixed-race children, parenting a differently-abled child, and being queer—have reinforced my unwavering stance against all forms of oppression. This and being a white bodied being who has privilege allows me to live as a bridge in this world and support decolonization work with understanding and compassion.
My lived experience of having privilege and also experiencing discrimination and prejudice has unfolded into an unwavering path to foster education, connection, and commitment to both individual and collective healing, which includes the shifting narratives around:
- Racism – no one should be judged, harmed, or held back because of their skin color or cultural background and all beings have the right to a safe existence.
- Antisemitism – hate for any group diminishes the beauty of collective learning and leads to violence and death.
- Homophobia & Transphobia – everybody has the right to live in a body that feels safe for them and sexuality and gender and not the same things.
- Ableism – every body and mind is worthy, valuable, and deserving of dignity.
- Ageism – wisdom and experience are assets, not liabilities.
I also welcome those who stand strong in beliefs other than mine, for it is through communication and understanding that we heal and begin to see we are truly all free.
I believe in building bridges, not walls. In listening, learning, and standing in solidarity with those whose voices have been silenced. My work is not just about Tantra, healing, or personal transformation—it’s about liberation for all. Because true healing cannot exist in a world where oppression still thrives.
Together, we rise. Together, we create a world where everyone—embracing the beauty of our diversity and histories—can live freely, safely, and authentically.

Nearly three years in, I can honestly say I am grateful for Me. Coming into the medicine after experiencing an immensely painful event that had me wondering if I still wanted to be here, I began working with Dawn and was gifted with the answer that all my parts did want to be here. Through the medicine, I learned and continue to learn that there is magic in the process, it isn’t one and done, and healing through community is glorious.
